Filter sites to keep Internet history and cache in.

Is there a way to filter certain sites to keep in Internet history even when I delete it?

I have windows 7 with the latest Internet explorer

This is a tricky thing to set up because you have to make a setting change and then hit delete to keep the setting. Once you set the option, you should be ok.

The other tricky thing is that it works off entires in your favorites. Data for everything you put in your favorites will be preserved. I only want certain sites data to be preserved, not every article I bookmark.

It get complicated to work around that, but there is a workaround.

Before I go into that, is this what you mean by "Is there a way to filter certain sites to keep in Internet history even when I delete it?"

When you hit that delete key in IE, you want to keep some things. - am I close to the mark?

    Try this:
(it will delete everything ticked, so be sure you want to go ahead with it)
(It will only Preserve data for websites that also are in your favorites folder)

    Interenet Options -> General tab
    Delete... button
Tick the topmost option: Preserve favorites website data
    Delete

Yes, I want to keep data from certain sites. For example, if I want to keep data of all videos watched on YouTube. I don't want to favorite every video. I want something that will silently not delete history from YouTube when I click delete history.

Yep, that's the drawback of the Preserve feature - it has to be in favorites. I wanted something else too, but ended up using what was there.

The other drawback is that it only affects IE delete, if you use CCleaner or something else - that app doesn't know about the Preserve feature.... sooo it's only good inside IE.

That's the only thing I know that does what you want in IE.

A different browser might help - they might have different delete/preserve options that don't rely on favorites/bookmarks. Still, you have to tell what ever you use that this is one of the sites you want to keep.

Maybe another member has an idea you can use. You might search the tutorial section or posts
    Keep web data
    Keep site data

It's a tough search, try a few different search terms.
