Favorites Folder: Strictly For IE8? Hello all:
Regarding the directory "C:\Users\*username*\Favorites", is this folder strictly for IE8? I would love it if it supports Firefox.
So, IE8 only? If so I'm putting that sucker into hidden mode.
Any help/suggestions, etc are very much appreciated! | My System Specs |

I appreciate the link, but you misunderstood my question. I am talking about the folder. I do not ever use IE8. I would like to see my Firefox favorites in that folder, and the ability to access them via Firefox, not IE8. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built desktop PC OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Intel Pentium D CPU 2.66GHz 3.03GHz Memory 4.00 GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT Sound Card Creative SB Audigy 2 / Realtek AC'97 Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell Screen Resolution 1600x1200 (two monitors) Keyboard Logitech S510 Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Mouse (see above) Case HP Hard Drives SAMSUNG SP2504C ATA Device

Given that Firefox now stores its bookmarks in an SQL-Lite database table, it would be impractical and less efficient to store Firefox bookmarks in file format all the way over in IE's Favorites folder, especially for those users who never use IE.
I say ignore that folder, or if you really have to go ahead and hide it.
And for those who do use both browsers, IMO the Xmarks extension is a much better way to synchronize bookmarks with favorites across browsers. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Vostro 420 OS Windows 7 Pro x64 CPU 3.00 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Q9650 Memory 4 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series Monitor(s) Displays DELL 2405FPW Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives System: 80GB WDC WD800JD-22MSA1

I'll just go ahead and hide that folder. Thanks for the explanation!
Also, I agree with you on Xmarks. I couldn't live without it!

Hmm. For some reason it's not letting me hid it. Any ideas? Delete it? What Favorites folder are you hiding? As a test I just hid the Favorites folder under my logged-in ID.
Definitely don't recommend deleting it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Vostro 420 OS Windows 7 Pro x64 CPU 3.00 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Q9650 Memory 4 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series Monitor(s) Displays DELL 2405FPW Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives System: 80GB WDC WD800JD-22MSA1

directly. Yes, that folder is for IE only. That was unnecessarily rude. And the responses to the OP's questions were unnecessarily ridiculous. They asked a very simple question and got two completely unrelated answers. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (Technet) CPU 3.00 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo E8400 Motherboard ASUSTeK Computer INC.
