Can't run or save files from Explorer 11

    Greetings,

I can't save or run files while downloading them through Explorer. The pop-up comes up at the bottom of the screen and when I try to save, save as, or run, Norton says the file is okay but nothing else happens. The box just stays open. Any suggestions? I am not pc savvy so explain things in a little more detail if you can. Thanks in advance.

Win Pro 7 32 bit, Internet Explorer 11

    Regards,

Yes, disabled Norton as well as IO Malware and Advance systemcare 7 and still have the same problem. I checked the services and processes to ensure none of these were running.

"Norton says the file is okay" ... how can it say it's okay without downloading? Anything in download folder?

Norton doesn't say that now, and nothing in the download file. Now when I select "Save As", it just sits there and the pop-up at the botton of the browser stays open.

I also ran sfc /scannow and there were no problems reported.

Can you download from other sites?
Create another user and logon as that user. Same problem? You may delete the user account later of you wish

I created a new admin user and the download worked exactly like it was suppose to. The user I always use has admin priv so something must have changed but I have no idea. Thanks in advance.

Not sure when this started, I just turned this pc on earlier this week; I hadn't used it in a while. I installed all the Microsoft updates and updated Norton as well. I'll try and uninstall 11 if I can figure out how to reinstall 11 without a browser. I'll check and see if Chrome is working. Thanks.

I can't seem to get Chrome to load and run but Firefox will run.
