Hi ThrashZone,
I unhid the IE11 update (only windows Imprtant update I hid previously)
Booted into Safe Mode with Networking
Turned On (checked) IE8 in Prog/Features/Windows Features
Ran sfc /scannow while in Safe Mode
Restarted normal
extracted sfcdetails.txt
and screenshot of Important updates fails (couldnt quite all the fails in, but they are all IE11 fails)

Thank You again for your help.

Use the Tutorial Internet Explorer 11 - Uninstall in Windows 7
(If it's still installed)

Then download the IE11 standalone installer. Even if you don't use IE you must keep it up to date for the sake of system security. I suggest temporarily disabling any antivirus you have installed until the installation is complete.

Hi Ex_Brit, thank you for your response and help.
Unfortunately I can't uninstall IE11 in Control Panel.Programs.Programs and Features. It is not listed there. The result of a failed Windows Update & my own ignorance. Or where you referring to Option Two running the code in Elevated Command Prompt? If so, would you recommend running it in Safe Mode? I'm not too savvy with trying to repair IE in Windows and trying to proceed with caution. ThrashZone has been helping me also. I think we are making progress as, now I can at least launch the original IE8 installed on the machine.
When I get the all clear, I think I will upgrade to IE10. From some of the reviews on IE11 I've seen, not so good. (It crashed my IE lol)
Would you have a link to a stand alone installer for IE10?
I don't know what us newbies would do without good people like you to help us. Thanks!

Hi,
Don't worry about the windows updates yet let them sit for now,
Run sfc three times in a row and restart between each scan (I know it's a pain)
Now that you've Unhide the ie11 update,
The stand alone installer is a good idea (Thanks Ex-Brit) but lets try the ie9 one first,
Shut down your machine and restart,
Access Internet explorer like this,
Add the Run box to the Start menu list you can also use Winkey+R to open the Run box,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/559-start-menu-add-run-button.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/265-start-menu-customize.html
Open the Run command and Paste either of these strings into it and Okay,

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

iexplore.exe -extoff

Then go here,
ie9 download select your windows version and language,

No I was referring to that only if it was still installed.

What happens when you try an sfc /scannow in and Elevated Command Prompt in regular mode? Tutorial option two here: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I don't recommend IE10. IE11 is more secure. I certainly wouldn't recommend IE9.

Hi I was attempting to take baby steps to see if it would install,
Ie10 would be the next step if ie9 completes otherwise we may have to take another turn,
Cheers.

Hi ThrashZone,
Ran sfc /scannow three times, re-starting between each scan. (Not a pain to me, having a IE browser messed up a much bigger pain, thanks!)

Ran the -extoff

Then went to MS IE9 download & Installed, looks like it's working OK, posting on it now.
I will look for your further instructions.

Great news
Okay I'll assume the sfc report was allot shorter if not empty of fixed files ?
Now manually check for updates,
You should see some ie9 Important updates,
See if they load well if wondering take screen shots of the list and post it and lets review them,
Cheers.
