Check for Newer version of stored pages IE9 on Windows 7 Group Policy

    Windows 7 Professional SP1 IE 9

    In IE9 under:

Tools > Internet Options > General > Browsing History > Settings > Temporary Internet Files >
Check for newer version of stored pages--->

Could this settings be set through Group Policy somehow to "every time I visit the page".
Need to be pushed out to like 900 machines.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the info,
I don't see anything specific but Option 2 here,
Internet Explorer Home Page - Specify and Prevent Changing
Will show you where the settings are located,
    Cheers.

I could not find a setting to do what you want via group policy, although a reg key holding that information could easily be pushed out.

I recommend possibly going with internet explorer 11 and the new enterprise mode that is releasing soon. Should fix any compatibility issues you are having.

May I ask what is happening with the website that you need to have it do this for?

Alternatively, you could enable empty temporary internet files folder when browser is closed. Or disable allow website caches and databases.

Taken from here for more info:

    http://www.petri.co.il/controlling_i...ze_via_gpo.htm

The built-in GPO settings do not provide a method for controlling the size of the "Temporary Internet Files", hence the users (if no restriction on the user profile size exist) can quickly fill up the disk space on their computers. The problem becomes more serious with Terminal Services - user profiles start growing and chewing up the disk space on the server.

Follow the steps outlined in the Adding New Administrative Templates to a GPO article on general instructions on how to add or remove an .ADM file from the Administrative Templates section in GPO.

Note: As with many custom Administrative Templates, you will need to remove the requirement to show policy settings that can be fully managed in the GPO editor. Follow the above link for instructions on how to do that.

Next, go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer Cache and configure the cache size.
