i have always had I.E up until a few weeks ago.when it started acting up. a message kept appearing every 10 min' or so saying saying I.E not responding.i tried for a while to fix it but eventually took it to the shop.
now i would like to get it back on. but when i try to download it i get this message operating system not supported'
and, this version of I.E setup doesn't support your version of windows.then it gives me link to go to.
when i try to download that ,a message say's you have a version of I.E on you computer ,but i can't find it .

    Hi,
Make sure Internet explorer is turned on,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5023-windows-features-turn-off.html
    See what this does,
Use No Add-ons mode/ Click the Start button and type in the search box,
    Internet explorer

Click on the suggestion (No Add-ons) or it’s located at,
    Start/ All programs/ Accessories folder/ System tools folder/ No add-ons.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/manage-add-ons#ie=ie-10-win-7
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/How-to-manage-add-ons-in-Internet-Explorer-9
If using ie10 the first link will apply to ie9 as well,
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-crashes-stops-working#ie=ie-10-win-7

Activate EPM if on a 64 bit version of windows,

Add the Run box to the Start menu list,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/559-start-menu-add-run-button.html
Open the Run command and Paste this into it and Okay,
    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

Internet Explorer is a part of windows. It cannot be uninstalled. Disabled yes, but not completely removed.

If you navigate to Computer- double click the C drive-program files-internet explorer,
and right click on iexplore.exe and choose send to-desktop. This will create a shortcut to
internet explorer on your desktop. You can then rename the shortcut to Internet Explorer.
Then you can right click the shortcut and pin to the start menu and taskbar if you would like.

This bug is usually caused when a Windows 7 pc has internet explorer 8 or 9 and is updated to version 10 or higher. The icon can sometimes fail to properly reassign a desktop shortcut back when the new version is installed.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/265-start-menu-customize.html

i have been start and typed in internet explorer, there are a few of these but each time i click on them same result .
it is as if it doesn't exist.i have found about a dozen references to I.E and tried them all to no effect.

    Ok, first lets try this.

1.) Follow this tutorial, read it entirely before starting:

    Internet Explorer - Reset

Once you have done that, go back to my post and reread it. I did not ask you to left click on it, I asked you to right click on iexplore.exe and choose sent to desktop.

2.) Directions again: Click Click computer. Double click local disk C. Double click the program files folder.

Double click the internet explorer folder. Look in the folder for iexplore.exe Right click on it, and chose send to.

Then click desktop (create shortcut). Close the window. On your desktop, right click the new shortcut iexplore.exe and choose rename.

Then Name it "Internet Explorer" without the quotes.

Then right click the shortcut again and choose pin to startmenu and pin to taskbar.

3.) I would also like to you to follow this tutorial, and use option 2, steps 1 and 2 please:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Please tell us the results of the scan.

Once this is done you should be able to use internet explorer without issue.
