ID say chroem for general use, its what im using cuz all the firefox's currently out (not including the 3.0 versions) cause my explorer to crash, but Opera is pretty nifty, with the emails integrated and the turbo feature is real handy on a slow connection.

    google chrome is the shiznit

    EDIT: i use firefox though

    2nd EDIT:

Uber Philf try uninstalling your Adobe Flash Player and installing an older verion at old apps.com first you might wanna see if it actually is this(was for me) so open up IE instead of firefox and when it crashes click send error report and eventually goto more info and it should say exactly why it crashed hope it works

i started out with firefox on a 32bit, 4gb system. i had a lot of memory leaks, so i went with opera. At first i was turned off by the lack of add ons, but i was soon able to customize it to work just like ff. Now opera is my default. since then, i have upgrade to a new system (see specs), and installed ff again. It works flawlessly, but i still prefer opera. Im currently having some issues with both browsers at the moment, but if i had to keep one, it would be opera.

The chart below is from Web Browser Performance comparing all the major web browsers. So based on the chart below I would select Chrome
