In Chrome, there is a section of the Preferences file that records the window placement/size:
Aviator's Preferences file seems to be missing that info (by design?).
Aviator seems to break some things (by design?) for the sake of privacy.
I'm not sure that it is possible to allow local data to be set...
...when Aviator launches a child that disables databases.
Code:"C:\Program Files (x86)\WhiteHat\Aviator\Application\Aviator.exe" --type=renderer --disable-databases --lang=en-US --force-fieldtrials=BrowserPreReadExperiment/100-pct-default/Prerender/Prerender15minTTL/UMA-New-Install-Uniformity-Trial/Experiment/UMA-Session-Randomized-Uniformity-Trial-5-Percent/group_17/UMA-Uniformity-Trial-1-Percent/group_60/UMA-Uniformity-Trial-10-Percent/group_04/UMA-Uniformity-Trial-100-Percent/group_01/UMA-Uniformity-Trial-20-Percent/group_04/UMA-Uniformity-Trial-5-Percent/group_18/UMA-Uniformity-Trial-50-Percent/group_01/ --enable-threaded-compositing --enable-delegated-renderer --enable-deadline-scheduling --disable-pepper-3d --disable-accelerated-compositing --disable-accelerated-video-decode --disable-webrtc-hw-encoding --enable-software-compositing --disable-gpu-compositing --disable-pepper-3d --channel="3504.1.1821746514\1381905567" /prefetch:673131151
Perhaps they are trying to make the fingerprint less unique?

A Guy
Pale Moon warns me thusly...
...while Aviator happily takes me there without warning.
(I know/trust EEF - having followed their work for more than a decade via RISK digest.)
Unfortunately, Aviator fails EFF's test:
I performed the https://panopticlick.eff.org/ test on both my Chrome Browser and Aviator browser. I'm not sure how to determine which ones more secure:
That one is Chrome.
And this one is Aviator...
How am i to tell the difference? What's good what's bad, etc? Did Chrome do better than Aviator?

Yes I think that must be the case and it does really seems that some of those settings are not meant to be enabled or cannot be enabled for either security or privacy reasons. What it really needs from a user perspective is the removal of those options from the settings menus.
to which post are you referring to ?
Call me a newbie but i don't know exactly what that sites used for and it seems UserNameIssues trusted it for some time now and i'd like to know more about it... Does the sites main page explain everything? Either way, i'd like how to read the results so i can compare my Chrome to my Aviator
It seems like a test to see how "Unique" a browser is from the details on the front page of that site.
What could be safely modified to make a browser's "Fingerprint" more unique? It seems as if Aviator is more unique than most but UserNameIssues comment in post#124 states that the browser failed EFF's test =(
You can try to follow the info presented here https://panopticlick.eff.org/self-defense.php to try and pass the test.
I don't attempt to be that hidden on the web.
Oh well anyway... The response I received for Setting Aviator as the Default browser is as follows:
Hi,
Thanks again for the interest in Aviator. We’re aware of the default problem and working on a fix right now. In the meantime, I’ve pasted below a suggested workaround from our development team that’ll fix the problem. It’s obviously more complicated this way than it needs to be, and hopefully by next update the default option will work as it’s supposed to.
Users who already installed Aviator, can run Aviator as Admin once to make it default browser using the steps below:
1. Close Aviator instance if it is running
2. Desktop -> Right Click on Aviator Icon -> Run as Admin
3. After the UAC, the user has to set Aviator as the default browser.
Let me know if you have any more questions, and yeah, I’ll check out that forum and see if I can help out on anything in my limited non-technical capacity.
Regards,
Mason Kolbeck

As far as Adblock conflicting with Disconnect in Aviator the replay was:
While in the past Adblock would conflict with Disconnect, it seems that’s no longer the case right now and I haven’t heard of a single user who’s had a problem or change in performance after installation of adblock. This doesn’t mean that there absolutely won’t be any problems, but it doesn’t look like there’s blatant incompatibility between the two and the average user should be fine.
