Problem moving Outlook Express to Outlook.com

I'm preparing tomove from XP to Win7. I want to move my Outlook Express contacts, folders and emails to another email system like Outlook.com.

I keep getting this message:

Something happened while we were checking your PC, and we can't move to the next step. Please refresh the page, and try again.
Your email app might not have closed properly the last time. Please open and close the app before continuing.
If you keep getting errors, get help in the Microsoft Community forums.

Hi,
The equivalent to outlook express is live mail not outlook.com,
Once you download and install a new default email program you'll be able to move the express information to live mail,
Then if you want to connect live mail to a on line service like outlook.com you can,
Live mail is one of many features included in Windows essentials 2012,
Import messages into Windows Mail from Outlook Express
Download a email program,

You can also use a service like Thunder bird,
Cheers.
