Can I change the print page range default to page 1 instead of all?

Hello, ecologists, economists, and efficiency experts:

Can I change the default print dialog on IE to use page range of 1 (first page) instead of all (the current default)?

98% of the pages I print to paper in a browser only require the first page being printed. Those 5-15 pages of esoteric user comments that trail behind my single page are often tossed in the wastebasket.

Perhaps there is a registry tweak or an add-on? Perhaps someone would create an open-source add-on for this? Please help. Thank you!

The way I do it is to high lite what you want to print and copy/paste to something like Notepad or Wordpad. Then just print from there.

You can use the method Layback Bear suggested, or highlight the part you want by starting at the upper left corner. Once you have what you want highlighted, click on Print. When the print dialog opens, under Page range, choose Selection. This will print only what you highlight (including pictures).

    Tab and down arrow

It's a pain and I've never found a way to override the default setting but the method that I use to only print the first page is:

    Ctrl+P

    then

    Tab (press 3 times quickly)

    Down Arrow (press once)

    then hit Enter

That way you can print without taking your hand off the keyboard.

EDIT: In addition to the browser add on suggested by A Guy you could also take a look at another add on that I tend to make more use of than PrintWhatYoulike.

While I would love Microsoft to get green, this CHROME add-on has worked the best. Of course, it forced me to move away from IE. Hey Microsoft, !!!
