Web Document property disappearing on URL shortcuts

    Yes.

    Or did you open/check it in notepad?
    If you double clicked on it...
    ...then it could have been changed right then
    ...before you copied it to your favorites.
    But it still worked afterwards.


    If you want to create a new user profile - but the issue might start happening again since we don't know the app that is causing this.
    I really don't want to do that.

    You can try the read-only file attribute.

    Or we can try and find the offending app using process monitor and maybe a script.

    Update:

    Another duff link and when I copy/replace the backup in, it immediately becomes duff. When I copy and keep both files, I get one duff link and the (2) version works.

    Headshaking stuff:
    Two minutes later both of them work fine!!
