What Windows Service Allows An E-mail Client To Browse Your System ?

Just a curious question. When e-mailing someone, and wanting to include a photo, what Windows service, or program, allows Yahoo, with my permission, to come onto my system and upload the file ?

The file selection dialog would be running under your web browser or email client which would also send the photo. Yahoo never had access to your computer and has no idea where the photo came from.

I'm not getting it. Where do I find the file selection dialog in FF and Yahoo is the e-mail client,
Somehow, Yahoo has access to my system since when I click on "Browse" (to select a file to upload) it
automatically opens Windows Explorer (desktop icons & files) so I can select a file.

Yahoo does NOT have access to your system.
I repeat, YAHOO DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR SYSTEM.
You click on "Browse" and Windows Explorer opens and you select a file. All of this takes place locally within your computer. Up to this point Yahoo has no idea what you are doing and has no access to your files. You then send the selected file. Yahoo has access to the file you have sent. No others.
