WLM 2011 -how do I create a new Contact list

Just moved to Windows 7 from XP and struggling with Windows Live Mail (amongst other things!). Very basic question but I can't find how to add a new Contact list.

Did you save (export) your old contact list as a CSV or WAB file? Or do you want to add the contacts individually?

Click on the "book" down in the left bottom corner. This will take you to the contact list. You can add them there individually or click on Import in the header ribbon and import your saved file from XP.

    Thanks carwiz.

The XP contact lists were copied over by the expert who set me up on Windows 7 . No idea if he did it as CSV or WAB

In addition to the full list of just over 300 names I also have 4 specific lists for e-mailing selected people and I now want to create an additional list.

I've found these lists but can't see any reference for creating a new list.

The list is called a Category now. At the top, in the menu ribbon, click on Category and this will allow you add a new category and choose what names are assigned to that category. To change a category, right click on the category in the left pane.

Thanks carwiz. Excuse my ignorance but what is the menu ribbon? If it's what appears when clicking on the Home button I can't see a Category on it.

The menu "ribbon" is what MS now calls the cartoon looking menu at the top of window. To see the menu options for the address book, you must first BE in the address book. Click on the book icon in the lower left to get to the address book. (Shown in second image above.) To get back to the email page, click on the mail icon to the far left of that same group of icons.
