That could be caused by the SHA512 certificate bug under TLS1.2 security. There's an update in today's batch to fix it.

SHA512 is disabled in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Jack, Ken, Jamie, have any of your had this same error? Maybe I should go back to IE11 and try the newfangled stuff.
Having an MVP badge doesn't make me any smarter, I know nothing about the SHA512 thing nor what it means. Per normal the MS KB has little useful info to give.

Never that error message but I've experienced a few freezes with a spinning pointer and a tiny image in the center of the screen on IE11. Perhaps I didn't wait long enough to get the error. When I get something like that, I immediately try to close the tab or shutdown IE.

The SHA512 bug is a security certificate hash mismatch problem under TLS1.2. If a website tried to use that issued (and valid) certificate, it wasn't recognized and often hung IE or crashed. The problem has been around for about a year or more. MS just issued a "fix" with today's updates.
