    Downloading crashes internet explorer

Currently, I'm unable to download anything on internet explorer as it freezes up and crashes. I have to use Google Chrome instead. This has been an issue for quite some time, however it didn't use to freeze up, it use to claim something about the downloads not being safe and being unable to finish downloading. I do not know if that's relevant as of today. I've read threads that with similar problems, and have -reset internet browser to default- -uninstalled Ie11, let windows update, reinstalled Ie11- Nothing as of yet has made any progress. Please help

    Hi and welcome to sevenforums,
    Use Clean boot,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/179159-troubleshoot-application-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html
Click Start and type in the search box,
    msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
    Repeat the screen shots,
See the links above my signature on how to take and upload screen shots here,
    Cheers.

    Hi,
    After please open Chrome,
Take additional screen shots of the Extensions section ignore the Privacy safeguard pointer unless it exists
Make sure Chrome Background apps are not running when Chrome is closed.

Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here post #7,
Ignore the title of the thread,
    Instant Savings App
Screen shot of the download button to use for Adwcleaner
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
Uncheck the box to Activate the Free trial from the final install options,
Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,
Select the drive to scan usually C,
If your really infected check the box to scan for Rootkits = this scan option will take several hours to complete,
Never use your machine while scans are running for best results,

This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,

    Post all scan reports please,
    Cheers.

I apologize, have been busy and will likely be so most of the weekend. I ran the checks and while several problems were detected and fixed none of them fixed the issue.

    Hi,
Depending on what was found please post the scan results for review,
Reset would be most likely needed,
Export Favorites to html file before resetting Internet explorer/ just to be safe.

You had Conduit, can you confirm that AdwCleaner removed that?

Remove Conduit Search and search.conduit.com (Removal Guide)
