how do I make text darker?

When I open a web site the text appears to be lighter and sort of washed out. How can I make the text a little darker. I've tried changing fonts but all the fonts I've tried appear the same as being light and washed out. Thanks for any help.

    Using Windows 7, new Dell 8700 with new 24 inch monitor...using 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Hello Yat, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you're using Internet Explorer, then you could use the method (step 5 and 6) in the tutorial below to specify a darker webpage font to be used instead.

You'll probably need to try a few of the fonts until you find one that works best for you though. Arial Black is a good dark one though.

    Hope this helps, :)

    - I agree, I'd certainly tweak Cleartype before considering using different fonts..

    - by the way..
the quickest way to find Clear-type settings
is to right-click on the desktop, then Personalize..
next, select Display from the list at the left (down at the bottom)

    - the next screen will show the options available..
