unable to click email links in IE8 or the mail icon in

Hi, I still cant get the email links on a web page and email link in IE 8's toolbar to work. I did the work around for windows mail and got it working in win7 but these last 2 fixes are eluding me at the moment, any ideas?

    Hello Allanon,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you been able to set WM as the default email handler. This is necessary for the 'mail to' links to function.

    Hope this helps.

it doesnt list email in the default programs, i was thinking about installing something like thunderbird or eudora and see if it then would have an email listed in the default programs and then I could change it to windows mail..think it might work?

Stop using Windows Mail... and move on to "Live Mail" there is a reason that MS removed WM.

Live Mail is another option. Personally I don't like it, but many here do.

I Hate Windows Live....It doesnt suit my way of doing things at all...so that is not an option, I never had ANY problem with outlook express or windows mail, period...I use common sense with my email and dont open up everything some joker sends me....I am very proactive when it comes to my security.

If the thread I posted above doesn't get WM to show in default programs, then thunderbird or one of the many others may be the way to go.
