Links in Windows Live Mail not starting up browser

This problem I suddenly have encountered relates to the links you sometime get in an email on Windows Live Mail (eg. Home Depot Ad). Normally you click on the link and it starts up the browser. However, just recently it has started to open up Microsoft Word instead? So I removed MS Word and now it is trying to open in my printer choices.

How do I get it to start up my browser again? I've looked all through "File Associations", but couldn't notice anything in particular I could change.

It might be worth mentioning that both my wife and I login separately when starting up the computer and her email links are working fine.

If anyone can point me into the right direction to fix things I would appreciate it.

Amazingly I stumbled on the correction myself. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket today.

Control Panels > Programs > Default Programs > Set Default Programs.

From the list on the left I highlighted "Firefox" and on the right-hand panel I clicked on "Set this program as default". Did the same with Windows Live Mail. Something caused one of those programs to become UN-defaulted.
