program compatibility problem and windows explorer does not show icon

When I browse job sites like monster, I get a message that there is a compability problem. It then tells me
to click on my internet explorer icon to fix compatability program. So I am confused on what to do to fix this...I don't have a windows icon to click on, but when I go to windows explorer it says I have the latest
version? I admit to being computer illiterate ( I am taking classes on word, excel and windows os)
Sure would appreciate some help! Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Open Internet explorer,
Go to the site with the issue,
Once on the site Press and hold down the Alt key on your keyboard,
Then at the same time press the T key
Then simply click on Compatibility view settings,
If your already on the site,
It will already be listed in the add box,
Simply click on the Add button then the Close button,

Close Internet explorer and re-open and go back to the site and test.
Cheers.

You can also click on this broken page icon
When the icon is Blue compatibility view is active,

Can I configure Windows Explorer to use a single program icon?
Windows explorer uses one program icon for Computer, a different icon for drive C:, another for folders and files, and yet others for libraries. (I am not talking about the icons inside Windows Explorer, I'm talking about the icon you see on the taskbar or Alt-Tab). When I use Alt-Tab or...

'Open' icon in Windows Explorer problem
Hello all, I've just reinstalled my OS and I've forgotten how to fix this. My problem is that the icon is different than the icon of the program itself. It should also be a miniature "monitor-pc-cd" icon as shown. Other instances are alright -- clicking on a .doc file or a folder changes it to the...
