    Imported favourites in chrome

I currently have access to my old favourites in Internet Explorer. I do not want to lose them. I have not found a way to install these in chrome independently of IE. But particularly I want to switch off IE and I know how to do this . But will I lose the imported favourites if I do. any help appreciated.

THRASHZONE RE - IMPORTED favourites from IE into Google. Thanks very much for response. I want to switch off IE because I use my laptop very little and I have the problem of installing loads of updates that use up my data allowance. Also this IE is very slow to use. I use now mainly google on my IPAD and on the laptop when I go there. Now I have imported satisfactorily my favourites into Google but I simply do not want to lose them. So what I wanted to ask is - will they be retained in Google if I switch off IE and of course in future install just the Windows7 updates. Or are they dependent on the IE supplying them? I also remember thinking that whilst on a page imported from IE to try to Bookmark it in Google as an entity independent of IE but it did not seem to do that on the occasion that I tried!

    Hi,
You shouldn't loose them in Chrome but you can export them from either browser as a htlm file,
    Look at Option 2,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/86795-internet-explorer-import-export-favorites.html

You can do the same in Chrome too,

    Data restrictions is a issue,
But Chrome updates too and on a daily basis how large of an update ? it does this silently so it's hard to measure :/

If necessary use a friends home wifi to run windows updates ?

    THRASHZONE imported Favourites

Thanks again!. I think exporting this to file is a good idea.Actually doing IE Updates from wifi indeed at the local library is an idea -after all you only need to download and then Install at home. But I only tend to use IE when I am in the Public Library. Having chrome and IOS Safari I find I don't need IE anymore.

    Your welcome :)
Windows updates are allot easier to control than Chrome's updates but it's all personal preferences,
Just don't neglect windows updates too long ie on or off
    Cheers.
