Outlook Express on Windows 7?

PocoMail doesn't look free...

I've already paid for windows so I would never pay for an email client. Even if I didn't like any of the free ones there's plenty of web mail accounts you can use, GMail etc...

Try Outlook 2010 -- you can get the BETA MS office 2010 FREE and its valid till late 2010. (Gives you Access 2010, EXCEL 2010 etc etc as well)

OK It's a bit more complex than OE -- for people like me that don't have loads of accounts etc OE was MORE than sufficient - but whether we like it or not IT'S GONE so we have to use something else.

I don't like Live mail (or Windows Live for that matter) either.

i am using outlook 2010 and so far so good. Live is okay but i was use to using outlook maybe you should give it a try

I want Outlook! Had enough of this endless setting up with Windows 7. Days on end I've tried to first connect to the net when I'm finally there after weeks of new router being sent etc etc all there is available, is another webmail site.A replacement for OE it is not. Windows Live is crap!! I had OE on Vista for 2 1/2 years.I had it there let me know if there is any way to get OE on 7. Please!!!??

I can't recall seeing a way to get OE on Windows 7 in these forums.

Thunderbird can be configured to look and behave much like OE, but getting mail imported properly to Thunderbird can be a pain.

I'm just using Windows Live Mail, the main thing that bugs me about it is that it encourages you to use a live or hotmail account, even tho I do have an msn account, I don't wan't my calendar and other stuff being synced with MS Live on the web. So I just use my ISP account and store the calendar offline. If/when I change my ISP ever again I'm not going to bother using an email client at all, I'll just use gmail instead and for ISP related mail again view it web mail style.

It's just that I started using a PC back in the days of Win 98' so not having an email client seems odd to me. Younger ones probably think nothing of it.

I had to forget about OE. Now have Mozilla Thunderbird. My email transferred easily and no probs. As yet...
At least I can forget about crappy Windows live.
I recommend Mozilla Thunderbird for anyone who feels the same.

I think you'll need OUTLOOK 2007 / 2010.

It's worth biting the bullet as most offices tend to use Outlook.

You can get copies of Office 2007 very cheaply if you look - also most work places have a "Use at Home" arrangement with Microsoft so you can get Office 2007 enterprise for just the cost of the DVD - around 5 USD . I think colleges and universities have a similar sceme in operation.

I actually liked OE too -- but am quite happy with Outlook these days. I hated Live Mail also.

I tried to give Thunderbird a go this morning but I couldn't seem to be able to Import Mail from WLM, so I just uninstalled Thunderbird.
