Kudos From Susan Bradley

Susan Bradley MVP who is a regular contributor to Windows Secrets published an article there yesterday (10082014) on Microsoft's EMET5 and its affect on Internet Explorer, in it she gave acknowledgement to one of the SevenForums Tutorials by Capt. Jack Sparrow, and I felt it deserved mention here.

Quote:
EMET brings Internet Explorer to its knees

Based on the letters I received, installing EMET 5 made Internet Explorer a little too secure — as in: the browser would no longer launch or open......

.......To see whether EMET has issues with a particular add-on (or add-ons), click Start and enter “Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)” into the search box. Next, click Enter. Open IE and see whether it crashes. If it doesn’t, click the IE tool icon and select “Manage add-ons.” Disable all add-ons and then enable them one at a time, retesting IE each time. Repeat until you find the offending app. I grant you that’s not the most thorough way to diagnose problems, but it usually works.

You might also try Windows SevenForums’ SF IE Restorator (site); it’ll reregister needed IE DLLs. (This will also flush out bad Domain Name System cache entries.)

I want to thank Susan for her thoughtfulness including SevenForums, and in particular the Tutorial by Capt. Jack, in her troubleshooting.

To all who have put in the effort and contributed here i'd just like to say Hat's Off for one of the most comprehensive sites i've ever seen on a brand new OS. I stumbled over from the Vista Forums originally and they deserve the same... Well Done !
