    WinMail on Win7 64: I ended with 2 "Local Folders"(and more issues)

    Dear all:

On 6 JAN 12 I installed WinMail on 1 PC + 1 Laptop running Win 7/64 following the MORE THAN EXCELLENT Tutorial from this site.

WinMail worked fine and survived Win 7 updates/hardware changes/etc. during 3 ½ years (with help from this forum).

Few days ago I got a Win 7 start error not recoverable with Restore and I was forced to reinstall Win 7 with the Upgrade type of installation.

Almost everything worked fine with Win 7, but WinMail didn’t work.

After searching on this forum (and other sources) I opted to start all over again using the updated version of the Tutorial plus the Local Folders of my backup.
This worked fine, some of my custom folders were empty/partially empty and I "solved" (?) that using the WinMail Import function on my backup files.

WinMail is working OK now, but it ended up with:
(please take in account that my OS is in Spanish, so folders, files, etc. names maybe are not exactly as they appear on a English OS) :

    • 2 “Local Folders”: “Local Folders” and “Local Folders (1)”
Is it a “normal” situation? If not, What to do?

    • Several folders with different:
      • “Imported folders”
Is it a “normal” situation? If not, What to do?
      • “Recovered files”
Is it a “normal” situation? If not, What to do?

    • Empty messages with “From: Not specified” and w/o text (“It is not possible to find the content of this message”) mixed/interpersed with normal messages
Is there a way to get rid of the empty messages?

    TYIA for your help.
    Best regards

Actually this is an addendum to my original post.
My Yahoo email account get the following error message:

Account: 'xxxxxx', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com.ar', Protocol: POP3, Answer from server: '-ERR [SYS/TEMP] problem retrieving message.', Port: 995, Security(SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, Error number: 0x800CCC9

All settings of the email account are as requested and as they were before the Win 7 repair.
Furthermore those settings work OK in another laptop with WinMail on Win 7.

Any help to get this working?

    TYIA

    Most of the issues SOLVED

    Dear all:

Just in case, here is what I did to solve part of the issues:

    • -ERR [SYS/TEMP] problem retrieving message.', Port: 995, Security(SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, Error number: 0x800CCC90
Was solved deleting/discarding all emails (TOO MANY!) on my Inbox at Yahoo Webmail

    • 2 "Local Folders" (instead of 1)
I noticed that "Local Folders" [w/o (1)] didn't change the update date and that "Local Folders (1)
Using the trial and error approach, I found that Winmail worked fine w/o
"Local Folders", so I deleted it.

    King regards,
