Windows 7 Contacts Folder and Live Mail Address Book Not in Sync?

    Hi,
    I've a Windows 7 contacts folder located here: C:\Users\Richard\Contacts

But it is not the same as my Live Mail address book.

My Live Mail Address book has new contacts in it.

    1) How do I update the Windows 7 contacts folder?

    2) And what is the point of the Windows 7 contacts folder if it doesn't stay in sync with the Live Mail address book?

    Regards Richard

The Contacts folder is left over from Window Vista and if you were to go to the trouble of "reinstating" Windows Mail (the previous mail version that came only with Vista) then it would use the Contacts folder. If you have downloaded and installed WLM (a component of Windows Live Essentials) it has its own contacts database within the <user>/appdata folder tree. You can access this database only through the WLM program (and the website contacts.live.com if you sign-in since that site mirrors your "signed-in" contacts list). If you don't sign-in then you are viewing your "not-signed-in" contacts list in WLM which is also located in the appdata folder tree. If you have placed any contacts in the old Username/Contacts folder, you can import them into WLM.

Just go to your Contact, Import, then select "Address book for current window User".
    Worked for me :)
