Windows 7: I need a good email software now!

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Windows 7 email? Do you mean "Windows Live Mail"? Or something else?

I've found Windows Live Mail to be easy to setup and use, it's 95% identical to the old Outlook Express. ANd contrary to the name, you do not heed a Windows Live account to use it.

The contacts list in Windows Live Mail is int he menu "Go"->"Contacts".

If you describe the problem in more detail, it'll probably be a lot easier to work out than moving everything to a completely new mail client with completely new setup and usage.

Ugh, I should wait till I've had coffee before posting

Ok using Vista then you must be using the built in "Windows Mail". I didn't like that much either.

What I'd do is find out what our husband is using (Probably Windows Live Mail) and install that. THen you will be the same andyou can configure them togeather.

One issue that can cause "missing" emails, expecially with forwarded mail is spam filtering which windows live mail and almost any other current mail program will have. If you have no real spam problem, have your husband turn off spam filtering. Or if he wants to leave it on, send him a regular piece of mail (or find one in his inbox) right click the mail and select (I forget the exact wording here) "Trust mail from this sender" or something like that. THen anything you send should never get put in the spam folder...

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

Madeline, if you want to use Windows Mail, Vistas "onboard" pc mail, then if you have a back up, or a version (same bit) of Vista on another pc, you can follow Mr Grims excellent tutorial on How to Reinstate Windows Mail into Windows 7. I did it to both my pcs that are running 7, and it works great. The only issue you'll have (as far as I know of for now) is if you want to send an email link from a web page, Windows 7 won't recgonize Windows Mail, and you will have to copy and paste it into a email manually, or in my case, I also installed Windows Live Mail, so that feature will work when I need it. Also, Windows 7 will not recgonize Windows Mail in the Default Programs.

Yet I do like how Windows Live Mail looks, and is set up.

As pezzonovante said, for around $110. you can buy Outlook ala carte, otherwise you have to buy the Business version (I believe that is the one) for $300.00 to get Outlook. Hope this helps.

Good free email notifier that deletes on server?
I'm looking for a good free email notifier for pop3 accounts that allows you to view headers and delete selected items on the server. It's been awhile since I used one of these. The programs I used in the past aren't likely to support Vista and Windows Seven. Just looking for something...
