    Real problems

I habve been having real problems with updates and posting problems in IE11 Chrome I cannot use because my security doesn't have a plug un with ti and in desperation I unistalled IE11 and tired six time now to get it back via updates and nothing is working so am stuck in IE8.

Any ideas as I am at the point of wanting to to do something nasty to the machine after trying all day.

    Hi,
    I'm not sure what's up,
You went from ie8 to ie11
If so not at all the recommended path,
Install ie versions as they were released,
Hide the ie11 update next time you see it
Then check for updates and you'll see ie10 and 9 offered,
Hide the ie10 update and install ie9,

After install all security related updates applying to ie9,
    Then Unhide ie10,
Check for updates and install ie10
Check for updates again and install any security related updates offered,
Personally I would stick with ie10

Please also post what issues your having with this forum.... with ie10,
    Cheers.

    Kaspersky is your security ?

I would first try to get IE9 or IE 10. But then I do not understand why you cannot use another browser like Chrome or Opera. What is this plug-in problem.

Ok now I don't know how the dickens it got back straight from 8 to 9 and then to 11 the thing is driving me nuts to be honest I have done just about everything we tell others to do and the last chkdsk did find some problems and corrected them.
I will try that Rodey and Ken and wolfgang I do and have run Kaspersky for the last almost five years and it has a feature called "Safe Money" which runs when I go to do netbanking and I can only analoigise it to some sort of sandbox running.
Now IE provides a plug in but not Chrome I have not tried Firefox or Opera but I cannot think of them having that ability.

The posting problem is equally annoying to the point of distraction and can happen from a few words into the reply half way or just at the end doing a spell check like it has twice with this reply.
So I mam constantly copying the reply as I go along so that I don't have to start all over again

    Who's Ken
As far as posting here you can try clean boot,
I doubt it will help I personally believe the worst thing about third party a-v's is their updates

As a test uninstall it properly and use anything else :)
    I'd say MSE temporarily
This site/ 8F/ 10F have quirks in the editor
Best I can say test using F12/ Document mode as Standards and see what happens,
7F has switched to a default doc mode of ie9 it's always been ie7 in the past but John switched it
It helps allot with ie10 which I prefer to use personally
    Cheers.

Sorry Ken I thought you were Ken but I have problems keeping up with the many members names who I really like in here
At the moment I am having all sorts of problems that is one and the other my new Asus ROG laptop is slow as and will not download updates in 8.1 so I have a eastern front and a western front I am fighting on.

Mind you I have a new SSD here and an OEM of 7 and am wondering if I should try it as I am not a fan of 8 anyway. So I have my work cut out for the day now as yesterday it was also flat out and the update problem is getting VERY tedious.

So I have it right what is your first name?

Hi John my name is actually Mike but you can call me TZ or Hey you :)
Interesting issues you've been having and it seems on two machines :/
For the heck of it if you can stand it post a screen spot of your Startup items and Services without the Microsoft items,
Also lets see your browser add-ons in ie and your other browser I think that was chrome,

Was clean boot of any use ?

Hiyya Mike it is going to take me ages to work this out but here are somepics of my msconfig and the Chrome which I just installed again to show you.

Clean boot mate fingers are worn to stumps doing it.

I did some Google searches and got “extensions:” which Itake it are plug ins and all crapware like facebook twatter and kids games ad nauseum ad infinitum

Well that's not all of the startup items according to the scroll bar you have lots more Yikes
If you really would like to be more secure you need not use a Safe money feature to accomplish the task,
Simply activate Enhanced protection mode in Internet explorer 11,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/280434-internet-explorer-10-enable-32-bit-64-bit-ie10-windows-7-a.html

You can also use In-Private browsing by right clicking the pinned ie taskbar shortcut
I mean really you have an okay antivirus/ MBAM Pro/ and SAS Pro,
There is such a thing as too many security features my friend dump the safe money stuff and Frankie says relax the bugger man isn't going to attack you

This could all be tied to the disabling of SSL 3.0 in all browsers and your current security relies on it ?
Which also would effect Chrome I would think :/
Vulnerability in SSL 3.0 Could Allow Information Disclosure, v1.1
    Cheers.
