Hi,
See what's open using Task manager,
Right click your taskbar and click on Open Task manager,
First check the Applications section then processes,
Cheers.
You may have to sign out of other google services ?

Thanks, good idea. Chrome is opening now but if it starts monkey business again, I may want to dump it and start fresh with new download. Do you know if the new download will retain stuff from previous e.g. bookmarks, settings, saved ID/passwords etc.?
Also, this is what I have now: Version 39.0.2171.71 m
When I search for latest version, I get a lot of conflicting answers. Do you know the most dependable link for finding the newest?

Hi,
Chrome comes bundled with many different downloads it's best to get it directly from Google's site,
https://www.google.com/chrome/index.html
I don't use Chrome so I wouldn't know the current version
Wow if it's working you might want to alter it's settings while you have the chance
Top right and settings,

Everything is Chrome is sign in based so as long as you are signed in it has memory of your stuff,
You will need to download the same apps extensions though.

Hi and thanks for the update,
You can see the scales symbol on the top right of every ones post,
If one helped just click on the symbol and give a brief feedback message in the popup message,

Gary is a forum friend that passed away suddenly mid this year
My name is actually Mike but you can call me that or TZ or hey you
Cheers.

OK, thanks Mike. Sorry to hear about your lose. I see three little doodles at top right here. My guess is the one in the middle (add to reputation) right? Anyway, that where I put this:

ThrashZone replied to my questions with good, detailed and effective suggestions.

Thanks all,

That’s what I have and it seems to be OK for now. Except for the error message: “Warning, Dick Cheney has hacked into your account and is stealing all your money”. He’s going to be very disappointed for all his trouble.
I’ll leave it be until more monkey business starts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b2w_nJLuvw

Needed to uninstall Chrome completely; reinstalled version won't run
