    Can't install IE 11 on Windows 7 x64

I am trying to re-install IE 11, but it keeps reporting "Internet Explorer did not finish installing". I have tried a number of suggested solutions including Safe Mode and using msconfig to disable all services. Each time I try to run the installer I do see four entries in the Application Event Log from the Windows Error Reporting source. Two have an event name of "WindowsWcpOtherFailure3" and two have an event name of "CbsPackageServicingFailure2". However, I am not able to get much more useful information. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. FYI, all other Windows updates have been installed and I even uninstalled my anti-virus to make sure it wasn't getting in the way.

    Richard,
Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, I already ran across that pushed and followed those instructions without success.

I got it installed. I used msconfig to perform a clean boot (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135) and then used Windows Update to install IE 9. Then I rebooted and ran the IE 11 installer and it worked!
