    Flash Player IE11

It was anounced a while ago the windows updates would be taking care of flash player in IE11.

    Here's my screenshot:

Note: IE11 is kept disabled and flash player for IE is not installed.

Warning: Don't use the software shown in the screenshot as it will attempt to install OpenCandy unless you know how to block it!

    Callender,

Do you have a link for that information? What you have is not the official flash plug-in updater. Here is a screen shot of adobe flash plug-in control that located in the windows 7 control panel. I am thinking that the Adobe flash plug-in updates via windows update on systems using windows 7 maybe country specific.

Active x is not install on either it's a separate add-on,
I'm just talking about flash object not the active x plugin,
But yes ie11 in win-7 is also built in but just the flash object or basic flash player,
Thank Adobe for the confusion about the plug in/ active x and basic flash object
In Win 7 I uninstalled Flash Player ActiveX in Control Panel/Programs and Features.
That removed the IE11 Flash Object add-on, and Flash content does not play.

In Win 8.1 I never installed Flash Player ActiveX (listed in Control Panel/Programs and Features).
IE11 has the Flash Object add-on and Flash content does play.

If you're interested, I tried to grab everything in a single screen print per OS and highlight...

It's the only version of flash player that I have installed:

    @Callender
    Weird...
Your screen prints show different versions...
screen print one shows version 16.0.0.235
screen print two shows version 15.0.0.239

Personally I don't believe Flash is or ever has been built into Windows 7.
In Win 8.1 Flash Updates for IE are done in Windows Updates.
In Win 7 Flash Updates for IE are done using Adobe Flash Player Updates.

Well spotted! Thanks for your informative posts. It seems that I'd updated flash player to the latest version but currently everything is showing 16.0.0.235 is installed. I'm not sure how that happened but I'm going to run the removal tool and install the latest version. I don't know how that happened but yesterday I had a windows update problem that's been fixed now - but saw my machine reboot with the "Windows is reverting changes" message. I don't see how that could have rolled back flash player though!

I had been reading about flash player updates for IE11 delivered by windows updates but now see that this applies to Windows 8 and not to Windows 7. Since IE11 is disabled on my machine it wasn't something that I'd checked personally!

    Thanks.
