Yeah, I received Kaspersky free for 1yr, but it is not worth wasting my time if it is going to slow me down.

It seems every antivirus suite gets flack at some time or other. I have been influenced in the past by magazine reviews and personal recommendations on technical forums. First Norton was flavour of the month then it was labelled as bloatware. Try Panda said a forum member - lots of agreement. Then it was labelled as too intrusive. Later I switched to Kaspersky as it seemed to be scoring highly and I have to say I have been happy enough with it though all the background options make it very complicated for a non-technical PC users.

My main point being that every AV software pack has some issues, but if they don't cause too much trouble and do their job, why knock it? The only minor issue I've had with Kaspersky is a slight delay (maybe 10 seconds) in first opening a second tab in IE. After that initial tab, others open fast.

    Kaspersky Reply

Kaspersky finally responded a week later and said they know that their program is having problems with windows 7 and that there should be some updates forthcoming. However they stated that it slowed loading and file loading down severely

I have a XPS Dell which has a great cpu and 8gig memory, when I switched to what I use now, it changed to the way it should be, very fast and no delays. Again I did this on all 3 of my machines and it cured the problemI have used Kaspersky for the last several years and am disappointed in the fact they have not addressed this issue.

It's a pleasant change for a company to not only reply but to actually admit that their software is causing such problems!
