yahoo and gmail - same email name - bad idea?

I have a yahoo mail account that I've been using for many, many years, but today is the day I think I've finally had enough of their "temporary error 14" thing not allowing me to log in for hours at a time, when my other yahoo mail address works fine.

So I'm considering creating a gmail account, since I already have a Google account anyways. I prefer web-based email for my needs. Assuming it's possible and not already taken, I'd like to create a gmail email using the same email name as my primary yahoo name. Of course I would be using a different strong password.

Does anybody see a security issue with this? Is it considered a bad idea to have 2 different email addresses from 2 different sites using the same email name?

I don't see an issue with it, as long as you use a different password, I have 3 different e-mails the same(Yahoo, Outlook, GMail), and have had no issues with security or anything of the sort, all different passwords of course!

I'm planning on keeping my yahoo account active, at least for a while, and forward my mail from yahoo to gmail so I can actually access it. It's their web-based system that often has issues logging in properly - the mail is actually there but I can't log in properly to read it.

I was afraid in theory if a hacker has my yahoo mail they can easily guess my gmail also if it's the same email, but since they will be different passwords, I guess it shouldn't matter?

EDIT: I guess it's moot since my yahoo email is already taken on gmail. Oh well, that solves that concern.

    Hi,
No there's nothing wrong with having the same name on a different email service if it's available
    Cheers.
