Also its smtp not smpt
Changed that, but still no action. I double checked my password to get to my gmail account and that works.
I corrected the smtp, still no action.
I checked all your setting and they agree with mine. I have also removed all of the personal information relating to your account such as passwords and address. Trust me, you would have nothing but problems if this information was read by the wrong people. You would get so much spam and maybe worse.
In any event, I will think about your problem and post any new ideas. Maybe others will come by too.
Here are settings that work for a Gmail pop connection in WLM....Have you verified that Gmail is allowing access for less secured apps? This needs to be on for a Gmail account to work with WLM.
Hi Gary,
I tried the settings in your post, but I still get the error message:
------------------------------------
Unable to send or receive messages for the Gmail (xxxxxxxxx) account.
An incorrect password was entered.
The next time you send or receive messages,
you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

When I check in advanced, the out going mail port 465 stays highlighted, could that be part of the problem?
I double checked again my password by logging out firstfrom gmail and re log on again
Hi Vonda,
Not sure what else to recommend......here are some suggestions:
1. Verify in your account settings that the outgoing server requires authentication
2. Disable any anti-virus setting that is checking your incoming/outgoing email
3. Go to Programs/Features, and repair any Windows Essentials Programs
4. Be sure you have completely logged out of your Gmail account using webmail
5. Remove the problem account in WLM and add it back in from scratch
Sorry I can't be more helpful. Let us know how you progress.
I have done all the steps again to no avail. The one thing that puzzles me is that port 465 stays highlighted instead of going to black print like Port 995.
Try changing the outgoing mail port from 465 to 587. Don't understand why it stays highlighted.
