Security certificate pop-up constant on home page only

I am using ie 11 on win7 and my home page is yahoo. I get this pop-up constantly while I stay on my home page. It repeats no matter if I click yes to allow, or no, or cancel. As soon as I leave that page, it stops. I uploaded a pic of the screen.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
First of all what in the heck are you still using ie7
If a mistake use Alt+HA while ie is open to see the real version your using,

Most of these types of errors are because your system clock is way off either by hours or the actual year date is off,
    Cheers.

Yes, you are right. I meant I'm using Windows 7, IE 11. My clock shows the correct date and time. I think the clue may be that it only happens when I'm on the yahoo home page; not my yahoo mail inbox, and not once I leave the yahoo home page.

    Interesting,
Sign out and clear all cookies and go to yahoo.com and see what happens.

Thanks for that suggestion. I should have thought to try that before posting here.

I tried just now, but still getting the pop-up continuously. It doesn't show up while I'm reviewing my mail page, but as soon as I go to my yahoo home page it starts showing up again.

Yes, I assumed it wasn't a problem with the Yahoo site. It's on my end, but yahoo is the only site it happens to me. I'm thinking of just installing firefox or something. I can't figure it out.

From your screenshot I'd say it looks Adware related. That's just my best guess. Try running a scan for Adware and post the results.

    AdwCleaner Download

    See instructions here:

Note: Scan only - do not scan and clean

OK, thanks for the help. I do want to add that I downloaded and installed firefox as yahoo has been advertising. When I use firefox to go to my yahoo homepage all is fine. But if I go back to IE, I still get the pop-up. I think it will be interesting to use the adware scanner you suggested while I'm using IE, just to test the theory.
