Bing Installed Automatically: Want My Firefox Back. How, Please ?

    Hello,

    Always something.

Did a MozBackup of Thunderbird files, and it did it well.

    But,

It also, automatically, installed Bing as my Browser, which I don't want.

I downloaded Firefox again, which I had before, but can't see how to access it, or make it my
    default Browser.

Seems like Bing keeps coming up.

Any thoughts on what to do would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Bing is NOT a browser, its a search engine, like Google. ???

    Hi:

    MozBackup would not install Bing.
MozBackup is a utility program to permit backups of Mozilla applications (Firefox and Thunderbird).
It sounds as if you may have inadvertently installed Bing Desktop (or allowed Windows Updates to install it)???

As for Firefox, I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to?
Perhaps you refer to your "Search Settings" in Firefox?
As @fireberd explained, Bing is a search engine.
    Firefox is a browser.

Are you trying to configure Firefox as your default browser?
Or are you trying to change the default search engine in Firefox from Bing to a different search engine?
    Or something else?

We could better assist you if we had a bit more information about your precise issue...

    Thanks,

    Hi,
See if this will help as FireBerd has suggested,
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...irefox-android

There is a bing desktop search but the name could be different and listed as a windows update as Windows search 4.?

But your issue sounds just as FireBerd has said Bing search engine has been installed,
    Cheers.
Just noticed that was for android Oops,

    Hi, @Robert11:

Assuming you are asking about changing the search engines in the search bar of Firefox, in addition to the link provided by @ThrashZone, there is additional information in this KB article here:

Search Bar - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

    and here:

Use the Search bar in Firefox and manage search engines

    Thanks,

Problem With New Firefox Instal ?

    Hello,

    Always something.

Was infected by the CTB Locker virus, and trying to get things going again.

Have used Firefox, and want to again.

Have downloaded and installed it, and everything seems to look quite normal for it.

    But-

If I type something into the address bar like Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more, it goes right to it; no problem.

But if I type something into the Search box (I think it is trying to use Google, but not sure),
you can type a query into the box, but as soon as you hit Return or Search, it all just disappears.

Any idea what might be happening ? Or how to fix ?

    Thanks,
    Bob
