You either have a file sent to you that needs a certain program to associate with or you already have the program but the association hasn't been set yet.

This tutorial may be helpful: Default Programs - Associate a File Type or Protocol and check related tutorials at the end if that one doesn't help.

Can you tell me the file's extension type; Is it .exe, .psd, .pps, .pdf, .mov, .mp3, .mp4 or something else?

Open"Default Programs"and click on See your default programs and then click on each file in the box and then click on "Set this program as default".This took about ten minutes at the most.Hope this will be of help.

That is a great help, it's always nice to know how someone solved their problem! Thank you for posting back. Marking your thread solved will act as a flag and help others in case they are looking for a solution with the same situation.

To mark your thread solved it's the green button next to the orange Post Reply button that only you can see because it is your thread.
If something does go awry later on you can always re-mark it Unsolved.

    Thanks,

    Steve
