What version of Internet Explorer are you trying to uninstall? I believe Vista like Windows 7 has a base version Internet Explorer as part of the operating system. With Windows 7 it's IE8, not sure what it was with this Vista. If that's the case you can't uninstall the version as part of the operating system.

Why do you wish to uninstall Internet Explorer?
It will only be listed if it was upgraded from a previous version. Uninstalling the update will only revert to the previous version.

While it is technically possible to remove Internet Explorer this is NOT recommended. It is not just a browser but is essentially a part of the operating system. Some Windows components rely on Internet Explorer components as do some third party applications.

Unless you have a good reason to do otherwise you should upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer supported by your OS. This applies whether you use the browser or not.
