    Hi:

It would sure help to know a bit more (what version of Firefox, what theme (if non-default), what extensions and add-ons, etc.).

    But I'll take a stab...
I think you are asking how to get the BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR under NAVIGATION TOOLBAR?

That's where mine is Navigation Toolbar on top, then Bookmarks Toolbar, then Tabs.
I have the menu bar disabled, preferring to use the old-fashioned, orange Menu Button instead.

I am using Classic Theme Restorer extension under Firefox 40.0.3 (default theme and a handful of mostly security extensions) on Win7/64.
I think that will allow you to do what you want to do.

    Hope this helps,

Here is another way you can do that.

Click on the open menu icon. Click customize, click on show/hide toolbars click on bookmarks toolbar. A checkmark should appear and also click on menu bar, again a checkmark should appear. Now click on exit customize

    ^^ Excellent points ^^

I may have misunderstood the OP.
I thought the question was about the position of the various toolbars (which one on top of which), rather than opting whether or not to display them.
With so many ways to customize Firefox (and with so little detail provided by the OP), I may well have missed the point.

Thanks for the helpful hint - it's certainly any easy way to fix what might be the actual issue the OP reports.

    Cheers,

You still have a good tip using that extension, I misunderstood myself, that why I re-edited my post. I think the op wants the old way to use bookmarks it could be either menu toolbar or bookmarks toolbar or both.

It took me awhile to figure what's needed. It sounds like both the tool bar and bookmarks bar are on the same level.

You can while in customize mode go up to the bookmarks bar and grab and move it to any level you want, except the title and tab bars.

As you have experienced It can go to the left or right of the menu bar, it can be placed to the left, between or to the right of the address/search boxes just not anywhere on the the title and tab bars.

Make sure you have the show/hide toolbars checked off to show.
