    MS dumping IE

In January MS will concentrate all its browser development resources on Edge (for W10), IE will be retired. There was no announcement or statement from MS on Internet Explorer on W7. The assumption is that along with W7 itself, IE11 will continue in extended support until 2020.

IE is not the top browser available, but there are still sites out there that recommend IE due to the way they were developed. The fate of MS Silverlight is unclear - the official MS W10 Edge statement did not mention it.

The expectation is that security updates will continue after January 2016, but all development has ceased. Anyone seen any info that would shed more light on IE (specifically on W7)?

I've always used IE for browsing as I like the features. I know there are loads of browsers on the market Google Chrome, FireFox, Opera but they don't have the same features as IE. I have FireFox installed as a backup browser but there are updates out every other day for that which again is very annoying.

The only slightly annoying thing is in CCleaner I have Last Download Location ticked and when I download anything it goes back to the default Users/Downloads. On my WinXP computer it remembers this different location.

I will be sticking to IE for as long as I can.
