Windows Live Mail 2011 Crash and my Recycle Bin

A couple of days ago, my Windows Live Mail 2011 crashed andall my subfolders and emails disappeared. I was able to go to the Storage section, where after re-making newsubfolders, Imade recopied the storage filesinto these new subfolders.

However, some emails to different people showed the samemessage in each email and I could not find a way of getting the originalmessages back into the right emails.

I have since read an article that said I should check myRecycle Bin and I have done this and see that at the time WLM crashed, thereare several WLM parts in the Recycle Bin.

There is a yellow File Folder called Backup and white ones, which all seem tobe part of the WLM programme. The white ones are:

    ebd - text document
    edb.chk - recovered file fragments
    edbOAB4 - text document
    edbres00001.jrs - JRS file
    edbres00002.jrs - JRS file

The problem is that if I try and restore these files, WillI, in fact have duplicates, e.g. those emails I copied over from Storage andthose from the Recycle Bin?

Please advise if this would happen and what should I do, asI have some emails that obviously had their messages corrupted. Would they be in the "Recovered File Fragment" file as mentioned above?

Please note that I am not a computer geek but a pensioner,so please write in simple terms.

    Thanks.

it should be fine, if there are any duplicates, a dialog box will ask you wether you want to duplicate the file, replace it or leave it where it is as you copy them from the recycle bin.

You could also run a backup of all your current files and folders first. Then, if the restore goes bad, you could import the backup.

Thank you Hacb and Essenbe for your answers. A few further commentsand things to sort out.

    1) The crash happened last Thursday, 29thOct.If I use the Recycle Bin to restoremy emails, I presume I will still have any emails received and sent since thatdate?

    2) I do not have any other kind of backup other than usingMozy Home, which does not back-up emails, so I cannot restore backup files. (Ihave also copied documents on a memory stick.) So using the Recycle Bin may bemy only option. Is it still ok to do this without Backup files in place? I presume I would still have the Storage emailsanyway?

    3) Alternatively, Ido have a another computer, but it is a laptop.I have never exported emails before, but should I do it to that machinefor safety’s sake before I use the Recycle Bin to restore emails and if so, howdoes one use Export?

    4) I have my emails under my name, but my partner shares my desktopcomputer and on his side of the computer, his emails did not crash. I presume activating the files on the RecycleBin will not hurt his emails, or anything else I might do?

Thanks for your assistance in this matter.
