    Hi Terry,
Couple of things from the logs.
Did you have Norton installed at sometime, there appear to be remnants left behind.
please run the norton removal tool from this link
    https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...jgruxEViKfetOA

Also can you update your AMD graphics card driver.

there is also a problem with you browser service loader can you check you have the same settings as shown in the screenshot.

Here's my difference from your screenshot-I have SuperFetch as manual, and I have UPnP Device Host started. Should I change those 2, and is it done in same place?
The only other difference I see is 'telephony' which I have started, but didn't know if that was connected to using lan type connection on internet, which I do?

    Terri,
Scroll to SERVER right click on it, select properties to get screenshot right hand side.
They are the ones to check, is it set at auto

    [QUOTE=torchwood;3216691]Hi Terry,
Couple of things from the logs.

"Also can you update your AMD graphics card driver." end quote

Roy, I did ck into updating ATI Radeon HD 4200 driver, but found it's declared 'legacy' now, so no more updates. Two questions, what did you see that made you think it needed update? And, where do I find the driver version number to see if it's already the 'most recent' (from 2013) one offered on AMD site?

    driver

    Hi Terri,
the driver from HP is dated 2013, although there are 2, dont know why its installed as legacy thou. sp56778 exe .

I picked it up from the additions text it actually relates to the security service error

Did you run the Norton removal tool.
    and did you try Firefox?

The other thing you could try is to Turn IE11 off/reboot then back on from
    Program/features >> turn features off/on (top left)

We can if none of the above work uninstall then reinstall IE11.

Roy, I actually ran ComboFix, and it fixed my problem with IE11, I'm very happy to report!

I was hoping to resolve the driver issue b/f closing out the topic. A little confused by your answer...I do see driver offered on AMD site for this card, but it's also dated 2013, so may not be update for me.

What is 'sp5678 exe' referring to in your post to me? Thanks, again, Terri

    sp

    Hi Terri,

That sp no: is directly from the HP website for your make and model.

Glad you got it fixed, Combofix is mainly used to clear Malware problems, although it does reset a lot of permissions.
If its malware look up whatever it removed, and if its a rootkit/keylogger of any desciption CHANGE your passwords on a DIFFERENT computer.

I was assuming I had some windows settings fouled up that it fixed, but honestly I wd love it if you'd look over my result log from ComboFix to see what it fixed...I appreciate all your help and don't mean to overstay my welcome!

I just tried to look thru ComboFix report again, and have no idea what it fixed, so hope you can help me there...
