Maybe you should consider using two profiles?

Well basically WLM will be taken over by Outlook and it is run from a browser as I understand it and after using it at work I don't like it one bit and why I am using Thunderbird it an be set as WLM so run from an icon on my taskbar. Plus if you install Outlook form what I can gather it is a free subscription for ayear so prpbably paid for after that time.

You may be interested in these tow articles https://www.hostaway.net.au/news/imap-vs-pop/ and https://www.telstra.com.au/support/c...l-email-set-up

Now with the Thunderbird although it isn't so pretty as WLM it does carry over your WLM settings and again I think is faster. You just need to tell it to use your existing email server ie **********@hotmail.com or whatever you are using.

To be rank it is worth a try you can always uninstall it if you do not like it

One thing I don't like is the large window/pane between the header and the message (in the picture. The middle with the lines of blue) I can't seem to shrink. It is loaded with stuff I don't understand and don't need WLM or Outlook never had this..

Truckinguy mate to make it look like WLM click on View > Layout > Vertical - there a couple more options there but the Vertical is very much like WLM see pic The contacts do not come across as far as I can make ouit if I find out I will let you know.

Trucking mat as yet I have not found anyway of transferring en masse' addresses. So what I am doing pro-tem is to go though my emails in TB right click on the top address (the sender) and then click add to address book.
I think Microsoft has set it up only to export either Windows Live or Outlook as there is no WLM option - I stand to be corrected of course.

Trucker watch this is it takes a bit of working out with the filing system when you go to add the address book - it has to be added using the csv comma system form the drop down. If I get time I will type up the steps.

Thanks for the replies.... Mozilla ended up so corrupted and with issues I uninstalled it. Reinstalled and now I get black windows..when I try to open emails,or view tools etc. I was hoping I could get it back to the default setup like when I first installed it but it must save cookies. I used Revo uninstaller and scanned for any left over files but It seems it didn't work.
I don't understand why there isn't an email program that will just work when installed without issues.. I've tried about 6 and all had issues. Even WLM which I went to right after the Outook cancel of multiple accounts still has issues with me.
The only non issue one I had was MSN premium back when and Outlook when they allowed 2 email accounts at once. That's when it screwed me up. I need 2 email accounts at once. I hate signing into outlook then out then in etc.

I use Thunderbird portable with 3 email accounts and don't have any problems.
I have Gmail, Hotmail, and Outlook.com accounts in Tbird.
The portable version is available here if you're interested in trying it:
Mozilla Thunderbird, Portable Edition | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

I don't store portable apps on the C drive, i put them in a different partition so I can use them with any OS on my PC.

I'm having a heck of a time trying to get any email program to work without gliches, etc. The only one that works fine is when I sign into Outlook .com..but I need 2 accounts at once and they stopped that as you know a while ago.. stating security reasons..
I tried eclien, mozilla and a few others..even WLM now is corrupted some because of the others I tried to install.

    See this post:

    Thunderbird Links don't work

Note that there may be folders left over after uninstalling and they must be deleted.

Folder locations posted in the above link are wrong and should show:

Additionally check the following locations and manually delete any Mozilla Thunderbird files or folders found.

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird"

    "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird"

    "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Thunderbird"

    Then reboot.
Consider using a separate profile for each hotmail/ outlook account.

EDIT: Folder locations changed to match DavidE's suggestion in post below.

    Additional info:

From: [Fix] KB3093594 Update Causing Email Sync Problems to Windows Live Mail 2012 Users - AskVG

Actually Microsoft has been upgrading all Outlook and other Microsoft email accounts to a new service called Outlook Mail (Preview) since May 2015. Some email accounts have been upgraded to this new service but many Microsoft email accounts are still pending. Microsoft will keep upgrading all remaining email accounts to this new email service in coming weeks or months.

You can check whether your email account has been upgraded to the new Outlook Mail (Preview) service or not by logging into your Outlook email account using any web browser and if you see the new Outlook Mail (Preview) logo at the top-left corner of the webpage that means your account has been successfully upgraded. But if you see only Outlook logo that means your account has not been upgraded yet.
Also see: Windows Live Mail 2012 will not connect to Outlook.com

So basically if using multiple accounts - you might need to configure server settings for each account in Thunderbird. Especially if one account has been upgraded and one account has not been upgraded.

Thanks Callender for the folders info to check, +1

    I think "C:\Users\USERNAME\Local\Thunderbird"
    should be "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Thunderbird"
