Solved
Well fixed at least.
I deleted all folders from users/appdata etc to do with google chrome, reinstalled chrome again and it works how it should now.
Many thanks everyone.
The web is an amazing place when you can just post a problem and people come to the rescue to try to help.
It's not all doom and gloom out there. Lol.
