    Lost Live Mail

Hi from a new OLD guy.
I use the Live Mail for my two Yahoo/Att email accounts. Some time back started having problems with one account. Would not download mail because of "incorrect password" , "no internet connection" and others. Took longer and longer to get thru until it won't see it at all. Other account with same settings works fine. When it finally quit I thought I would try deleting the setting on Live Mail and start over. Apparently not a good thing because I lost all my emails in that account. I found where the email accounts are stored and then tried to "restore to previous version". That doesn't work. So I know I have all my inbox on Yahoo but I have "Lost" the rest. Am I SOL or is there something I am missing (besides all those emails)?
And any ideas why one account is hiding from Live Mail or is that part of it being no longer supported.
    Thanks

Hello and welcome Vagon Master do you mean Windows Live Mail mate? if so it has gone belly up with me and I am using Outlook (free) and Thunderbird which can be configured to look like WLM.

Am not overly keen on Outlook but what does one do when the program you really liked is suddenly taken from beneath you?

It's part of no longer being supported.

Windows Live Essential end of support.

Plus, if you unhidden files & folders, you should be able to backup the entire Windows Live Mail folder which contains all the mails stored.

The path should be something like that: C:\your USER name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\

Hello Non long no post eh? Yes mate I was just trying to get the OP to let us know what was meant by Live Mail because a Google just comes up with Outlook see pic

With WLM I can still access all my past emails up to 19/10/2016 in hotmail it gets the chop from then the REALLY odd thing is it still downloads the secondary account I have set with my ISP still downloads emails??
So I am assuming they have got to hotmail accounts because it is theirs

Microsoft advised that the Windows Live mail would not be able to collect mail from Hotmail accounts a long time ago - as the updates to Outlook .com were incompatible with the old processes used in WLM

Windows Live Mail 2012 Will Not Work With the New Outlook.com - Thurrott.com

Other connection methods - POP3 and IMAP are unaffected by these changes and are still usable

    Sorry so long in answering.
    It is Windows LIve Mail.
I had read where some were having the same problems and when they deleted their 18000 emails in the yahoo inbox things got better.
So along with moving my 17000 from the inbox to archive, I changed my password on yahoo mail and WLM about a half dozen times and it started working again. Hasn't hiccupped for 2 days, ha ha .
So now I have to try and find the missing emails.
Going to try the 'restore previous version' again.
I got to think there in there somewhere.

Yep Vagon as Barman has stated WLM was ditched - literally - a while a go my last hotmail came through on the 19th October and yet it still picks up my secondary account that my ISP gave me.

The Outlook isn't so bad though with all things being said and done one cannot help but feel that Hotmail in WLM was dumped for reasons we or at least I don't know about - probably revenue raising and whatever - I am naturally suspicious of anything like this being thrust upon us.

The Outlook can be customised because I like to see the messages I haven't read yet highlighted the whole mind set around this and 10 seems to be towards wishy washy pastel colours and those awful blank headed windows. Again can be customised but why should it be so I don't know.
