There are no stupid questions, but sometimes stupid answers.

It's best to try a few browsers and see what one you like the best.
For me it's Chrome, I keep IE8 for the occasional site that won't open on Chrome, and for MS sites where I need to D/L something.
MS is not playing nicely with others, but getting better.

I'm sure the above poster meant what I said here, but could have left out the rude comments.

Each person will find their own favorite browser.
Choice is what we all are looking for, and would be despondent without.

    Let us know your choice.

    my choice: OPERA 10

Opera browser | Faster & safer internet | Free download

Its really fast (arguably the fastest), light , and its new feature "Opera Unite" allows you to access your home music , pics, and other stuff from anywhere in the world.

It may not be so much what is the best browser for Win 7 (64bit), but what browsers support 64 bit. That is a short list, I believe.

I'm using IE8 64 bit in Win 7 but there is no support for Flash, which limits your sites that you can interact with.

I use Chrome as my primary browser, which for me, is very fast. I don't get into all the addons and extensions so I like how quick it feels. If I have banking to perform online, I'll use IE8, just because.

So as someone else said, you have to just get out and try them all. You'll find that one appeals to you more than another; which means you found the best browser.

    Good Luck,
    Greg

    No need for rudeness

Hi just like to say what good replies there were to this post but as in all walks of life there has to be the one rude guy!! Ok he may be more experienced then the original poster but I always think other more experienced users have the knowledge and the inclination to help others less fortunate than ourselves! Well done to all posters even the guy from Belgrade!!!

    Thanks Kenrolli,

Well said, rudeness is usually a sign of ________ (fill in the blank with any descriptive term) and not tolerated on this forum, at least not for long.

    Hope your enjoying yourself here

Well, I do not see it as "stupid", but more as an impossible question to answer. If you browse through here you will see endless debates over the "best" browser, for exactly the reason that we all tend to have different priorities insofar as what features are most important to us!

For example, I would NEVER argue that for now at least Chrome is the fastest browser...so does that make it best? To some folks, absolutely...to others...not so much! To me, speed is not such a big deal, and I do not particularly care for Chrome...but I am not saying that my opinion carries any more weight or validity than someone who may think that Chrome is the greatest browser since sliced-bread! The question should be more like this:

"I am looking for (x-y-z) features in my browser, which one(s) support these functions/priorities best?"

Even then, you will get differing responses, but at least there would be a starting point with some purpose.

i did use chrome for a while but i have always liked firefox (bit of a fanboy) i would say firefox but you can do almost the same with chrome now with add ons and extenstions but give all of them a go for a week then change and you will find out which one you like.

it's good to use the search bar be for you make another thread on the same topic some members get angry when the see the same thread on the same topic.

I've been a bit of a Firefox fanboy as well, but am now on the shop for a new Browser as Firefox 4 is only going to be 32-bit?!?! I'm very upset at this news and a bit perplexed as to why?

finding this thread, I must thank you all for the great responses .. as in addition to trial & error, I've always liked to get advice from those who most likely know more about a particular topic than I do

seems I've narrowed my list of possible Firefox replacements to either Chrome or Opera

    Welcome to Seven Forums,

Both of those browsers are good, try one for a couple of weeks then try the other, use one or both until you decide which one is best for you.

    Enjoy.
