    I don't think you can uninstall it completely but you can disable it;

    Start > Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features On or Off > uncheck IE8

    Hope this helps :)

    You can disable it from Turn Windows Features on and off, completely uninstalling it....not sure about that one.

    Yes, this is true. After turning off IE in the features list, you need to restart your computer. On the way, Windows uninstalls IE8 and after the restart, you won't be able to find it on the system.

    Of course, you can always turn IE back on... Though I have been experiencing icons issues while trying to place shortcuts on the desktop/taskbar etc.

    Just a note,

    It really doesn't uninstall it, it turns it off. The files still reside on your hard drive not like in the old days when you had to place the CD into re-install programs.

    You cannot uninstall it because Windows is reliant on the IE core.

    i think you have to uninstall via installed updates, not so long ago i had a problem with IE8 and that is the way i did it control panel>programs>uninstall in the left pane choose "view installed updates" and remove from there

    I dont have IE in that menu. But hey ppl, lets forget it. like the guy above said, Windows is reliant to the IE core. So basiclly, removing it would cause me problems.

    hi coolness, after a little more thought on why i was able to remove IE8 like i did ,its because i was sent the 7 ultimate E version (without IE) living in the UK so my way will only work for people with the "E" version ,sorry about that
