I have the same problem

I did a factory restore on my HP win 7 64 bit laptop

internet explorer 8 worked fine

used windows update checked everything

Internet explorer 9 got installed

only the 64 bit version works

-( prior to the factory restore ie9 worked fine)

did everything suggested in this thread
- reset internet options
- verify i did not have a proxy activated
- verified I did not had an asus driver interfering
- did the sfc scannow thing in an elevated command prompt
- did the netsh thing in an elevated command prompt

if I open the ie 9 32 bit version, it opens SLOWLY you can do a thing or two and then it freezes and/or crashes

if I uninstal ie 9, ie 8 works fine

i upgrade and the problem comes back

suggestions?

Welcome to Seven Forums lcasarin. Your problem is actually different from the rest of this thread, but let's see if we can help you.

I'd start with running IE9 with no add-ons to see if that will work correctly:

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer

You can also try running IE9 from Safe mode with Networking if no change from the 1st suggestion:

Safe Mode

You can also try running IE9 by performing a clean start:

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

And lastly, if no help, try creating a new user account and see if it will work there:

User Account - Create

Good luck, let us know how you make out. A Guy

I am IT support and have one user who said IE32bit was suuuuuper slow starting last week but he is the only one who has complained about this. I read through this entire thread and tried all the possible fixes but no luck. Only additional info I can provide is that our internal web sites work fine and so does Google.. ???? However IE64bit and Firefox work normally. Any ideas would be helpful as I'm stuck. Thanks!

Welcome to Seven Forums buckeyepost. This is an old thread, you really should start a new one. You might try running Internet Explorer (No add-ons), see if that works normal.

Start> In search box type internet explorer and click on Internet Explorer (No add-ons) in results above
