Unable to open .eml attachments Hi,
I'm also having the same problem that I cannot open .eml attachments in WM using Windows 7.
I have tried the fixes in this thread .eml attachments won't open In windows mail in 'Seven without much luck.
I don't have the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\eml_auto_file\shell\open\command
I also tried downloaded mailclient.reg fix. Windows Mail doesn't show up in my Default Programs folder.
In Windows Mail, I have been into Tool>Options>General and changed it to Make this application the default Mail Handler.
I saved an .eml message to the desktop, did the file association to open with WM. All it does it opens the WM client and not the .eml file.
What did I miss?

Turn it off and try. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

Turn it off and try. Yes, I will change my to a if you find me a solution.
I still get the message:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing the action, blah blah blah."
The pop up blocker thing is not the problem. Thank you for trying. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP - PAVILLION e9110t OS Win 7 x64 CPU Interl Core 2 Quad Q8200 Memory 6 GB Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce G210 Sound Card NVIDIA High Def Audio Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 2343 bwx Screen Resolution 2084x1152 Other Info MY OTHER SYSTEM:

You are using the abbreviation WM, which can be the old windows mail. Are you using the current windows live mail? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

I am using Windows Mail which I imported over from Vista when I upgraded to Windows 7.
I have no problems with Windows Mail other than opening *.eml attachments. Everything else opens just find. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP - PAVILLION e9110t OS Win 7 x64 CPU Interl Core 2 Quad Q8200 Memory 6 GB Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce G210 Sound Card NVIDIA High Def Audio Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 2343 bwx Screen Resolution 2084x1152 Other Info MY OTHER SYSTEM:

There is no official support for wm on Windows 7. According to my information, WLM will open all attachments. Mine does. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

I must be honest, I really wanted to make that a happy face for Christmas, but I do not have the expertise to make WM work with 7. I would be able to help with WLM, though.
I can help you in one way. If you are going to change the registry and make other tweeks. Make a system Image of your hard drive and store it in a safe place. At least 10% of the questions that I get, are problems caused by tweeks.
In any event, sorry I could not be more help, but I truly wish that you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday and a safe and Happy New Year. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 Unable to open .eml attachments problems?
