Vista Windows Mail On Windows 7

    Hi guys,

I used what I did read here to tranfer my vista windows mail on Windows 7 and it works great.

I just have one problem; when i move a mail to one of my folders (from inbox to something else) all the content seems to be missing and I get this error

    Message cannot be found

    Windows Mail

Did I forget something when moving my files? I didn't take ownership of nothing since it wasn't mentioned on the post i did read (just renamed old dir and moved all allong)

I also seem to get empty message without subject, sender or message body ... simply fully blank.

Any ideas (did get any of those on my vista for over a year)

Hope you guys can help me out

    Bye :)

I hope that I understand your question, if I do I can help. If you look at the pane on the left, toward the bottom. The pane where all your mail boxes are located toward the bottom of the tree, you will see archives. All your mail should be there. Hope this works for you

    No archives directory

I copied my windows mail folder from my vista backup to my new install of windows 7.

I only got that prob when i move mail to another directory than "inbox" ... as long as i leave it in inbos all my data is there but once moced it is gone and windows mail says the error above :|

In the listing email and subject are stillt here but if I open the mail (2x click) i see unspecified sender and in the body the error. Any ideas?

    Ownership problem? permissions?

sounds like an incompatibility! - probably a bad idea to just copy over

can you import the Vista mail folder? or maybe there is an export function in Vista Mail that can be used to import in W7?

I only copied the windows mail directory.

Messages where imported into "blank" winmail.

I tried with playing with my antivirus prog and It got worse; instead of emptiing the mail body it just replaces it by another mail content :|

Turning off email protection didn't change a thing eather still buggy :|

you probably do not understand my point - is there a mail-import option in WinMail then use that one?

I imported all mail using the import function (imported from original vista mail directory)

In message #5 you write you just copied the mail folder from Vista over to W7 - now, what is it?
