    Internet Explorer has stopped working

I hope I'm not the only one having this issue. My IE8 gives me the "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message all the time. I bet in an hour, I get the message 6 times or more. Then I have to close it and restart. Is this a known issue. How do I fix it?

I don't know. Maybe I'll just go to Firefox.

    Add Ons

Sounds like you have an add on misbehaving go to tools manage add ons and disable all but adobe reader and adobe flash and see if that corrects your issue.

Goto start - accessories - system tools - IE (No addons)
If this worked, them one of the addon is the culprit. Follow the above post and disable the addon one by one and check which is creating the problem.
You can also try resetting IE to factory defaults. U can find it in IE - Tools - Internet options.

None worked? Goto command prompt elevated as admin, run,
    sfc /scannow
once done, restart the machine and check.

I experienced ur same issue and the above command fixed it.

If the above does not work, this will. Boot from your win7 DVD, select repair, you will be up and running in no time. The best to you and your loved ones for the New Year.

If that does not work try this. Go to search and type in turn windows features. There you will see turn windows features on and off. Turn off IE, turn off your machine and then boot up again. Be warned, you will not be able to go on line until you turn it back on again. If you are concerned, you can make a system restore point first, just to be sure.
