Windows 7: Doesn't remember default settings

Doesn't remember default settings

When opening up Microsoft Outlook 2007, it prompts me to choose Profile.

When I open up "options" tab, and put check mark in box, it doesn't remember it for the next time.

I had to create another account before but have now deleted that account so I just have 1 account listed but it still prompts me to select Profile Name even thought there's only 1 there.

Weird part is my new comp. is not enabling me to (let's say) open attachments automatically. I cannot have access to the dialog box that says "always ask before opening this type of file".

Don't know if this is related to my Outlook problem or not.

Thx for any suggestions.

You mentioned that this is a new computer. Did Windows 7 come preinstalled? If not, did you do a clean install or an upgrade?
